2024 F1 Bahrain Grand Prix: Verstappen Wins

The reigning world champion led from start to finish in a dominant display

Max Verstappen won the 2024 Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix in dominant fashion, leading from start to finish. It was a perfect start to the season for the Red Bull driver, who is now the favorite to win the world championship once again.

Verstappen started from pole position and quickly built a lead over Ferrari's Charles Leclerc. The Dutchman was never challenged throughout the race and eventually won by over 10 seconds. Leclerc finished second, while Mercedes' George Russell completed the podium.

The race was largely uneventful, with few overtakes or incidents. The only major drama came on lap 1 when Haas's Nico Hulkenberg crashed out of the race. The German driver lost control of his car at Turn 1 and hit the barriers. He was uninjured, but his retirement brought out the safety car.

The safety car period lasted for three laps, but Verstappen was able to maintain his lead when the race resumed. The Dutchman controlled the pace of the race and never looked like losing. He eventually crossed the line to take his first win of the season.
